Commuter Challenge 2025- Ride, walk, roll, transit
Join the Town of Penetanguishene in celebrating National Commuter Week (June 1 -7, 2025) by participating in the Commuter Challengeβa friendly competition that encourages active and sustainable transportation while promoting healthier workplaces and communities!
What is the Commuter Challenge?
- A week-long event during National Environment Week.
- A friendly competition between Canadian cities and workplaces.
- A celebration of active and sustainable commuting.
- An incentive to explore different ways to get to work.
- Locally hosted by The Town of Penetanguishene.
How Does It Work?
Participants commit to making at least one trip to work using a sustainable mode of transport:
πΆ Walk from home or park a block away and walk the rest
π΄ Cycle
π Take public transit
π Carpool
π‘ Telework (work from home)
β Live too far away? park 5 minutes away and walk to participate!
Individual to Do:
β Register as an individual. Register by May 18 t to be eligible for more prizes! www.commuterchallenge.ca .
β Pick-up Swag bag at the Bike Rodeo on May 31 at James Keating Elementary School, between 10:30 am β 12:30 pm
β Track commuting info at www.commuterchallenge.ca every day or at the end of thew week.
β Compete against coworkers and other Workplaces/Organizations.
Perks & Incentives
π Swag Bags for participants (cycling socks, sunglasses, bike lights, band-aids & more).
π Draw prizes for Hydration, Inflation, Protection, & Freshen-up Kits β winners drawn daily the week of May 26.
π Draw for premium commuter bags from Poppy & Peonies & Thule.
π Win prizes for: Top commuter (organization/workplace), top commuter (individual), top youngest & commuters, and most creative commuter.
βBike safety supplies available as needed (helmets, bells, etc.).
